BRIDGE CRANES
DOUBLE GIRDER CRANES
double girder cranes Double Girder Bridge Cranes are most frequently applied
in capacities over 10 tons and or spans of 60 ft. They can
be utilized at any capacity where extremely high hook lift
is required because the hook can be pulled up between
the girders. Double Girder Bridge Cranes are also ideal
where high speeds and heavy service are required. They
are also highly suitable where the crane needs to be fitted
with walkways, crane lights, cabs, magnet cable reels or
other special equipment.
The advantages of double girder traveling bridge cranes
become particularly evident with load capacities over 10
tons, or spans of over 50'. These advantages are:
Higher hook lift, since the hook can be pulled up
    between the main girders.
Extremely rigid box girder construction and durable
    trolley design are well suited for heavy service
    applications.
Two "Class D" 25 and 15 ton double girder cranes are used
at this steel facility

at this midwestern die manufacturing plant.
The double girder crane allows a high hook
lift by pulling the hook up between the
girders. We fully assemble and tests each
crane before shipment.
80 foot double girder cranes SELECTING THE PROPER CRANE CONFIGURATION
The structure of an overhead crane is determined by
many factors, including the height to which it must be
lifted, the distance it must be moved, and the strength
and structure of the building in which it will be operated.
The advantages of the various structural designs are
outlined on this page, showing examples of common
designs along with basic specifications. In addition,

the most appropriate and economical crane for your
needs.
Two 35 ton, 80 foot double girder cranes
are used for precise placement of large
equipment at this rewinding and repair
facility for heavy duty industrial equipment.
One crane also has a 20 ton auxiliary hoist
to help rotate loads.
WIRE ROPE HOISTS

standard industrial applications. Capacities from 2 to 50 tons
are offered.
6 to 1 Hoist/Speed Ratio - two speeds for precise and efficient
    lifting and lowering.
4 to 1 Travel Drive Ratio - two speeds for efficient high speed
    travel and safe positioning.
60 Minute TEFC Hoist Motor - built exclusively for hoist duty.
DC Rectified brakes - operate thousands of times without
    hundreds of adjustments.
Standard Overload Limit monitors load and prevents operator
    from lifting loads greater than hoist's capacity.
Wire Rope Guide ensures that rope remains securely and safely
    seated in drum grooves.
Type D Double Girder Top Running Hoist
Capacities up to 40 tons
One Lower and Two Upper Limit Switches (standard) bring
    load hook to a positive stop in both directions.
Quick Disconnect Plugs simplify installation and maintenance.

Complete Crane Pricing Includes the Following:
Crane girders. 2 speed hoist and trolley with DC rectified braking and 20' lift.
End trucks with rotating axle design. Independent festoon system for control and Pendant arranged
    on a smoothly operating C-track system along the girders.
Variable frequency drive control.
Inverter duty 60 minute motors with class F insulation. Crane control mounted in a NEMA 12 enclosure with quick
    disconnect.
DC rectified disc brakes.
Double flanged hardened wheels. Paint - one coat primer and one coat safety yellow.
