CABLE REEL SPECIFICATION DATA
APPLICATION
1. How will the reels be used?  (Check one)
    Drag Lift
Stretch Retrieve
2. Other application information: Describe the application or attach a sketch. For example: Will the reel need to lift
a cable-end accessory, or will the cable be run through rollers or sheaves? Or will the cable pay out at an angle?

ENVIRONMENTAL DATA: Describe the environment in the area where the cable reel will be installed and used.
1. Indoors Outdoors Duty Ice
Electrical enclosure sealing required (if known) NEMA or IP
2. Ambient temperature Min Max Degrees F Degrees C
3. Will there be corrosive materials present? Yes                No
If yes, describe the type of corrosive
4. Is this a hazardous location? Yes                No
If yes, state required NEC Class  Division Group
5. Other considerations (vibration, shock loads, etc):
MECHANICAL DATA
1. DUTY CYCLE cycles per [How often will the reel payout and retract?]
Note: For very high cycle rates, and/or harsh environments, and/or cables that must be routed through sheaves or rollers,
premium cable may be required.
Please consult us.
2. SPEED If reel will power moving equipment, what is the speed of the equipment?   FT/min.       M/min.
3. PAYOUT ANGLE How will the cable be paid out?    Parallel with Spool      At an Angle from the Spool
Note: If the cable payout is more than 15 degrees from parallel with the spool, a swivel bases or swing-mount will be
required, refer to Options below or contact us for recommendations.
4. OTHER MECHANICAL NOTES Will cable pass through/along devices such as rollers or sheaves that might
    affect cable retraction?
ELECTRICAL DATA
1. AMPACITY REQUIRED [The amount of amperage the reel/cable needs to handle per conductor.]
• Motor horsepower-to-amperage conversion
• To power an electromagnet - please consult us.
2. NUMBER OF CONDUCTORS REQUIRED (with ground)
[ Note: Single phase needs three conductors.; three-phase needs four ]
3. WIRE GAUGE/SIZE REQUIRED    AWG    Metric [To handle the required amperage per conductor.]
4. CABLE TYPE NEEDED
5. OPERATING VOLTAGE (volts)    AC    DC
6. OPERATING FREQUENCY Hz (Note: USA is 60 Hz)
CABLE LENGTH NEEDED Add up the cable length you need on the spool.
Active Length [The difference between minimum and maximum operating payout. See “Drag” drawing above]
Inactive Length [The cable that will stay outside the reel, even at minimum payout. See “Lift” drawing above]
Sag Allowance [For “Stretch” applications only, add 10% to the active + inactive length for cable sag.
See “Stretch” drawing above]
Lift Height [The distance from where the unwound cable will lay up to the reel location - see “Retrieve” drawing above]
Hookup Length [The amount needed to make connections at the “free end” of the cable - see “Retrieve” drawing above]
TOTAL CABLE LENGTH NEEDED ON THE SPOOL
(the sum of all lengths listed above)
Feeder Cord Length (if needed)
[To bring power to the reel - See “Lift” drawing above. A feeder is standard on some reels.]
